Leo’s Custom Christening Invitation

PhotobucketStationary by me : Kuku Couture Invitations

I love custom designing social stationary such as wedding, birthday and christening invitations.

I feel an overwhelming sense of pride in the fact that my design is going to be the first thing guests see that gives them a little hint of what the event will be like.

I also know that many people will keep these invitations as a keepsake of the event and therefore try my very best to provide exactly what the customer wants in terms of feel, look, mood.

This is not an easy process I really need to understand not only what their vision is for this particular event but also their loves, hates, favourites so I can get a real firm sense of their style and ensure that their/their family’s personality is perfectly reflected in the stationary.

Now when I am designing stationary for my own family you think this would be easy as obviously I know myself right? I know what I like? hmm apparently not.

I had so many ideas that I found it really difficult to sort them into the perfect invitation. I made many many many revisions but when I saw the final product I knew it was the perfect design for us.

Simple & Elegant thats what I wanted and I really love the way it turned out.

  1. Its gorgeous…and so is the photo! I think we are always our harshest critic too so when you are designing something for yourself you kind of feel that expectation from others that it will be really special. It is like me with photos of my kids. As I am a part time photographer, you can sometimes be more fussy with the photos you have around of your kids as you know that everyone thinks they should be good….if that makes sense!

  2. That is gorgeous! I love doing all our things as well and am currently working on a Christmas card. I can’t believe it’s already that time of year again!

  5. Gorgeousness! Ethan’s christening was in early Sept and it took months of getting it right, in the end I was lucky to hand them out within 5 weeks of the event! Mine were quite similar in concept (I had a little boy silhouette sitting under a tree reading the bible, with forest friends around) … well I cannot wait until we get together for that coffee – we have SO much in common (same church and venue too) x

  6. Gorgeous! Definitely the most beautiful christening invitation cards I’ve seen! :)

  7. It’s beautiful, Julia. I totally understand how hard it is to design your invitations for yourself and your family…. it’s like coming up with a brand/identity for your own business. It’s almost impossible because there are no boundaries! I hope the christening is a wonderful day for you and your family.

  8. That is just so simple and beautiful. I love the deep colour of it and the fonts you’ve chosen.
Leonid is pretty cute too. ;) I love how you’re proud of what you do and your job is so important. I keep all our friends’ wedding invites/cards etc because they are all so special.
