At home before the christening Macedonian Orthodox ceremony involves giving the baby a dunk in holy water, a little hair snip, blessing the cross given to Leo by his god parents and a visit to the private alter with the minister. Then there was cake and dancing. Jx

I’m Russian Orthodox so we have very similar traditions and ceremonies except that mostly our Christenings take place when our babies are still very little! Congratulations to your family and little Leonid!

Oh yes Sophie, I have heard it is done at 6 weeks probably better that way Leo didn’t cry but all the other babies that were there screamed the place down.
